Mission at Christ Church
In the gospel of Matthew Jesus gives the following clear instructions, often called ‘The Great Commission’ and its accompanying promise:
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28: 19-20)
There is a strong and well-established desire at Christ Church to see the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ proclaimed boldly yet lovingly in both word and deed.
We are committed to the five Marks of Mission
- To tell others about the Good News of God's way.
- To teach and nurture new believers.
- To tend to human need and suffering through loving service.
- To transform unjust structures, challenge violence, and bring peace.
- To treasure and sustain the created world, and renew life on earth.
